Inaugurated in 1970 and celebrated annually, Earth Day is a movement to mobilize people worldwide to protect our beautiful planet Earth and work for a bright future for all.
The Corridor District Creation Care Team encourages everyone to find an Earth Day event and join in the celebration – or plan an event at your church and invite the community! The theme for 2024 is Planet vs. Plastics.

Walk for Environmental Justice
Sunday, April 21, 2024,
3:00 pm-5:00 pm.
University United Methodist Church,
150 E. Franklin Street, Chapel Hill
In recognition of Earth Day 2024, the University United Methodist Church Environmental Stewardship Team invites our fellow United Methodists to join with other faith communities at 3:00 pm in front of the University United Methodist Church on Franklin Street, where we will enjoy inspirational music, hear speakers, and receive information about how we can be better caretakers of God’s creation. Then, we’ll walk on the sidewalk in a loop from the Planetarium to West Franklin Street and back. Participants are encouraged to carry signs that convey their issues to the public.

Creation Care Book Discussion Group
The group meets by Zoom on the 4th Monday of the month at 10:30 am.
