At the July 26th Corridor District Pastors Meeting, The Rev. Mike Frese introduced Marty Hunicutt as the new volunteer Corridor District Disaster Response Coordinator for UMCOR. Marty and his wife Linda live in Durham and are founding members of All Saints UMC in Raleigh. He provided a brief overview to the Pastors that explained the differences between Early Response Teams (ERTs) and Disaster Recovery Teams, which is shown in this table:
Currently, the Corridor District has 11 certified Early Response Teams at these churches: Bellemont, Mt. Sylvan & Union Grove, Orange, Elizabeth Street, Union Grove, Walnut Grove, Salem, All Saints, Mt. Zion, Concord and Christ UMC. As the DDCR, Marty will be in regular communication with (a) Mike Frese as DS, (b) the Pastors with Early Response Teams and their respective ERT contact, (c) Bryant Dodson, who is the newly appointed Conference Early Response Team Coordinator.
