We in the North Carolina Conference are seeking to provide love and support for children through our support and connection with our neighborhood schools as Congregations for Children. In this, we encourage our congregations to embrace your local school and through relationship and presence discover ways that you can help children to a healthier and full life through:

1- Helping to teach a child to read or to improve their reading skills
2- Helping a child access the basic needs for successful learning … food, clothing, supplies for school, etc.
3- Helping increase parental connections through the support of students and teachers

Thus, as we seek to offer the life and hope of Jesus to children, we find the presence of Jesus anew in the life of a child.

Our first survey of the district has found that of the 109 churches in the district, 26 have some form of Back Pack or food pantry program, 12 have some form of tutoring or reading/homework help programs and overall 34 have one or both of these programs or some other type of Church-School assistance, be it providing supplies, teacher appreciation or some other type of support. Additional information will be posted on this site related to success stories, resources, meetings and other elements deemed to be helpful for those in the Corridor District working on a C4C program.
