Most of us sense that things are not right in terms of racial justice and unity in our communities, churches, and country, but often we just don’t know what to do about it. The United Methodist Church is committed to helping us on the journey. For many of us who are white, we can feel overwhelmed by the prospect, or confused or frustrated about what to do. In the spirit of the great hymn “Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me,” let’s come together to hear voices that may help us and share with one another.
Please join members of the Corridor District/Alamance County United Methodists and others in reading the book Waking Up White by Debby Irving and coming together around the table to discuss, learn, and grow! Here’s a description of the book, and link to Bishop Hope’s encouragement to read it.
