Life Around the Table invites, encourages, and equips clergy, congregations, and communities to eat together faithfully.
Life Around the Table is an ecumenical ministry birthed from the Corridor District that offers programs including:
1. Sabbath Life
An invitation to clergy and ministry professionals to embody a way of life grounded in the spiritual disciplines of work, eating together, silence, and learning in community. Participants gather at a local farm one day a month for 10 months of the year (February-November). Click here for more information or to register.
2. EATING TOGETHER: Food that LAUGHS
Life Around the Table is working with Plainsong Farm to write an experiential, community-based curriculum for use in congregations and communities called EATING TOGETHER: Food that LAUGHS.
Small groups will engage in what it means to develop an ecology of life together in their communities in which the sacrament of Holy Communion stands as a model for how we eat together and how we invite others to eat. EATING TOGETHER at its core develops the idea of food that LAUGHS: food that is Local, Affordable, Uncomplicated, Good, Healthy, and Seasonal. The curriculum leads groups through 9 sessions which explore scriptural lessons and themes in light of our current food practices in our churches, our homes, and our communities. For more information about the curriculum click here.
Click here for more information about how to become a site for field testing the curriculum in 2018.
3. Teaching, Preaching, Hosting, Consulting, and Special Events
Life Around the Table works with congregations, non-profits, and community organizations to explore new and creative ways to eat healthy, good, local food together. LATT staff are available for teaching, preaching, retreats, and workshops, and also offer consultations for groups seeking to eat together faithfully. LATT also hosts groups for A Taste of Sabbath Life at Thunder Mountain.
