Epworth Journeying Toward Justice and the Dismantling Racism group of the Corridor District present a community lecture series open to all.
The October 29th lecture features the topic Black Man in a White Coat.
Dr. Damon Tweedy grew up in a Maryland suburb of Washington, DC. He is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine and Yale Law School. Dr. Tweedy is an assistant professor of psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center and staff physician at the Durham Veteran Affairs Medical Center. He has published articles in the New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, and Raleigh News & Observer, as well as in various medical journals. His book, Black Man in a White Coat: A Doctor’s Reflections on Race and Medicine (published in 2015) has been a New York Times bestseller and was named one of Time magazine’s ten best nonfiction books of the year. Dr. Tweedy lives near Durham, NC with his family.
