”In as much as you have done it to the least of these my brethren,
Ye have done it to me”
My name is Christopher Vaughan and I am a member of Culbreth United Methodist Church. God has touched my heart over the past few years to help the hungry wherever and however that I can. On February 29, 2020, I will walk the Appalachian Trail. All 2180 miles of it from Georgia to Maine.
I am asking for your assistance. Not in the form of money, for I believe that God will provide that to me. I am asking each and every one of you to donate cans of food. This food will be donated to the most efficient local food bank in your District. In my district (the Gateway District) and many of the Districts in North Carolina, the biggest and most efficient one is The 2nd Harvest Food Bank.
I hope that all churches will follow Christ’s lead and participate. No amount is too little and how you and your congregation decides on what to donate is your choice. It might be a lump sum, by the mile, by the tens of miles, by the hundreds of miles, and so forth.
I may be contacted at Culbreth United Methodist Church, by email at
firstname.lastname@example.org, at home at (910)321-0240, or by
cell at (910)476-3078.
