The Garden of Concord, a community garden, was first planted in Eli Whitney, NC in May 2009 and has remained dedicated to serving its community as it is itself worked and shared by the community. No experience is necessary and all ages are welcome. All tools, seeds, plants, and instructions are provided. We learn and grow together.
The garden is a collective (not individual plots) community garden with over 50 varieties of seasonal produce planted in 100+ wide raised beds (1/2 acre of growing space) along with theme gardens, blueberry bushes, grapevines, strawberries, herbs, cut flowers, and so much more. We also have a shaded picnic area, children’s play area, a passive solar greenhouse, a brick pizza oven, “how to” workshops, a junior gardener’s program called “Kidz Thyme”, and many celebrations.
