The 2016 United Methodist General Conference was historic. How is that for understatement? “Hopeful,” “Fearful,” “Frustrated,” or “Confused” might be responses to the 2016 United Methodist General Conference. Consider this your invitation to come ponder questions about what it means to be United Methodist in this curious season.
Perhaps you have questions regarding why it was historic for the delegates to this General Conference to ask the Council of Bishops of The United Methodist Church to step in and help “find a way forward.”
Did anything happen at General Conference that impacts my local church?
Is human sexuality the only hot-button issue causing the denomination to consider splitting?
What does it mean to be a global church?
What would it look like to cease to be a global denomination?
